Santa Clara Sporting 00B Green Win 2017 Far West Regionals

Santa Clara Sporting Green Win For The Second Straight Year!

Updated: June 26, 2017

Santa Clara Sporting 00B Green (CA-N) held off Seattle United Copa (WA) for a 2-1 win in the 17U Boys final to advance to Nationals. Scoring was opened on the 20th-minute when Ramon Inda Felix netted the first goal for Sporting. Seattle continued to press and create opportunities, but it was Santa Clara’s Javier De Los Santos who scored the next goal — a hard shot from 30 yards out that flew on a line into the far corner. Seattle pulled one goal back in the final minute when Reese Owens headed the ball past the keeper, but Santa Clara Sporting 00B Green was able to secure the win in the end by a score of 2-1 and taking the 2017 Region IV title.

Santa Clara Sporting 00B Green also secured a berth to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be played on July 24-30 at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas.

We wish you continued success!
