Congratulations to the Sporting ’98G White Team for their four victory, undefeated result at the 2009 Soccer-By-The Bay Tournament on August 22nd-23rd. The offense scored a total of 12 goals against strong teams from Peninsula, Stanford, San Carlos, and San Mateo while the defense allowed only 1 goal all weekend, making three of the four victories shut outs. Two PKs were blocked during the four matches, protecting victories.

What makes the outcome so impressive is that this team was formed in July, and these were the first sanctioned matches the team has played. “We’re figuring out where girls belong on the field and building chemistry. I couldn’t be more proud of our team for their effort and accomplishment,” says coach Jon Terrett.
The team offers congratulations to our neighbors, the Sunnyvale Devils, for their 3-1 PK victory over the Ukiah Pumas to win the bracket. We look forward to lacing up our boots and facing off against Sunnyvale on the pitch during regular season matches.  It should make for some spectacular soccer.
Congratulations to all the players, coaches and parents!
